Backyard Forest Field Day

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Trees Forever will be holding a field day at Kent Park in Oxford. Small woodland owners are encouraged to join us for a day of learning from local experts. Speakers will lead small groups in rotating workshops through a variety of topics, including:
  • Forest Health Management
  • Alternative Woody Crops
  • Backyard Wildlife
  • Tree and Shrub Identification
  • Invasive Plant Management

Free admission, but early registration is appreciated. Refreshments will be provided.



This is an outdoor event, rain or shine. Be sure to dress appropriately for the outdoors. There will be short distances between stations that you will need to walk, so comfortable shoes are suggested. In the event of thunderstorms or severe weather, speakers will present indoors.
