The Rapid Creek watershed project is hosting a Nutrient Management Workshop focused on soil testing economics. Meaghan Anderson, ISU Extension Field Agronomist, and Greg Brenneman, ISU Extension Agricultural Engineer will discuss how to interpret soil test results and apply nutrients at a rate that is beneficial to both your pocketbook and water quality. Greg and Meaghan have invited producers to bring in their own soil test results to have them interpreted. There will be demonstrations of a soilscan 360 machine which is a new tool for landowners to measure nitrate levels in soil and water samples. Additionally, we’ll be discussing the progress of the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy and the Rapid Creek Watershed Project.
